Jay O'rear has offered another approach in presenting elementary (algebra-based) Physics. Does he succeed?
Read: "The goal I have been aiming at is to try to present the spirit and excitement of physics in the way that Fermi might have done." Note: O'rear's 1967 hardcover revised text is preliminary to his 1968 paperback "programmed manual of college physics." I concentrate on the hardcover edition, sufffused with examples, figures, and problems which enliven every page. The author writes: "...even more emphasis is placed on quantum mechanics and relativity," and "...fewer topics treated with greater depth."
